*CLOSED*Dream Baby Retractable Gate Giveaway:PTPA Award Winner!

I appreciate everyone that entered this giveaway! The winner is Comment #38 Joy and Melissa! Congrats, I hope you enjoy it....

Baby gates and I have had a long and loving relationship together. You see, long before I became a mom to my children, I was a mom to several fur babies. Anyone who has owned a pet knows the benefit of being able to secure them for a number of reasons, including coming home to garbage strewn throughout the house. That was always a fun activity for my hubby and I to share.

Since having my children, I have learned that the baby gate is my best friend for an even more important reason now. It not only allows me to keep my pets safe and out of trouble, but more importantly, my children. I have several openings in my home that lead to stairs or unsafe areas for my babies. Installing a baby gate was a necessity in our home.

I have tried and used all different types of baby gates and let me tell you, they have come a long way. They have not only become more convenient and easy to use, but more attractive as well. The PTPA Award Winner Dream Baby Retractable Gate is the perfect example of just how far baby gates have come.

The Dream Baby Retractable Gate will fit any opening up to 55' and is 29' tall. This gate can be used indoor an outdoors and comes with two sets of mounting hardware that can be used in two different doorways. The gate is coated in PVC so it is easy to clean, yet durable enough to withstand plenty of use. Here is an installation video that helps you to see a little more about this gate.

Features:

Fits narrow to wider openings up to 55”/140cm • Suitable for doorways, hallways & stairs • Sturdy and durable mesh • Retracts out of the way when not in use • Space efficient • No tripping hazard • Fittings & mounting template included for easy installation • Use for indoors and outdoors • Two sets of mounting brackets included for convenient relocation • UV protected • Spacers are required when fitting gate to baseboard/skirting boards (sold separately)

The Dream Baby Retractable Gate would be the perfect solution for a couple of problems I have faced in the past with baby gates. First, finding a gate that provided the coverage I needed for larger areas and second being able to use the gate easily in more than one area. Dream Baby has made both of these challenges a thing of the past. The Dream Baby Gate expands to cover an opening up to 55", which is big enough to cover any area the average user would have. It also comes with the hardware for mounting the gate in two separate areas. That would be ideal for me. It can then be moved easily to either location either inside or out.

If you would like to read about the Dream Baby Retractable Gate from someone who has actually used and approved it, then visit
Listen to Lena! But don't forget, it has also been Parent Tested and Parent Approved and been chosen as a PTPA Winner! You can't go wrong when other parents just like us have given it a thumbs up!

Would you like the opportunity to win your own Dream Baby Retractable Gate ($100 ARV)? Remember, the Dream Baby Retractable Gate can be used for multiple reasons, not just a young child. It is so sleek and retracts completely when it is not in use. Maybe you have pets, kids or even grandkids that come to visit, if so, the Dream Baby is a product you will want to check out.

Not Wordless But Wednesday.....What Defines Beauty?

What determines BEAUTY? Is beauty determined by our outward appearance? Is it determined by our weight, height? How about our eye color or hair color? Unfortunately, the sad truth is beauty is defined by all of these things. When did we lose sight of the big picture when it comes to beauty? I am not talking about the beauty that fades, but the lasting beauty!

I read a blog post yesterday that was written by a fellow blogger. The post was like a slap in the face to me at how cruel people can be. The post written was about a comment that had been left on her blog regarding one of her children. Yes, you heard right! Someone actually posted a negative comment about another mother's precious little child.

I wrote a
post recently on my blog about the need for me to feel like I could protect my children. When writing that post, it was children their own age that I was thinking of protecting them from, not an adult. The sad thing is the person that left the comment on this amazing ladies blog was an adult.

What happened to adults being the one to protect our children? Aren't we supposed to teach our children as well as others children to love themselves and what they see when they look in a mirror? Won't there be enough people in their lives that at some point find imperfections in them without us as adults adding to the hurt?

Back to the first paragraph about defining BEAUTY. Out of the four things I mentioned about outward beauty, anyone can change three of them within a short period of time. Does that make them more beautiful then? Well, I personally say NO! What defines a persons beauty is what you find INSIDE. Things that are lasting like kindness, generosity, compassion and love for others unconditionally.

What defines BEAUTY? How about this, why don't we stop trying to define BEAUTY and just accept that everyone is BEAUTIFUL to someone.

Just ask anyone who has every given birth to a child.......

*CLOSED*Glow Baby Notepads Review/Giveaway: Time to get Organized!

The Winner of the Glow Baby Pads is Comment #60 Strawberry Kids! CONGRATS!!!

I am not an organized person, there I said it! Sometimes things can get so overwhelming for me because I have stuff laying all over. One of the only ways that I can ever get organized is by using notes. I use notes for everything. The bad thing is I usually end up setting the note down somewhere and not remembering where to find it.

I was recently on the PTPA website and found a company called
Glow Baby. They are the makers of the PTPA Award Winner Baby's First Journal. I contacted them when I saw that they also offer Glow Baby Notepads. This product just called to me! The Notepads consist of four different notepads that are all geared towards helping organize the non-organized, frazzled parent like myself.

I didn't even realize how great these notepads would be until I received them in the mail. I don't know if you have had everyone in your household get sick at the same time, but it did just recently happen to us. I sure wish I would have had the notepads before that happened. You see one of the four pads is called a medicine pad. How great is that? When you have two small children both taking medicine, it can get confusing. When was the last dose? Who had the last dose? When is it due again? Well, you get the picture. With this pad, it allows you to track all of that information. It would have been a lifesaver for us. At least the next time we will be prepared.

The other three pads are a To Do List, a Shopping List and the all important Babysitter Notes. If I ever decide to use a babysitter, this pad will be perfect. It has a place to write just about anything that a babysitter could possibly need to know. It would make me feel very safe knowing that the babysitter was equipped with all the information needed to care for my child. The To Do List and Shopping List are pretty straight forward and very easy to use. Just jot down your recipes for the week and what you need/want from the store and you are all set when grocery shopping time comes around. You know they say that when you go to the store with a list, you don't end up buying as much junk. That is so true for me!

I love these
Glow Baby Pads. I think they are practical and so useful for any home. They all come with 30 pages per pad. Each pad also has a magnetic strip on the back for placing on the refrigerator or anywhere else you would like. The best part is mine are hanging neatly on the fridge so I never end up setting them down and losing them. Except for the Medicine pad, it is tucked away in the medicine cabinet so it's ready to be used the next time we need it. (Hopefully not soon!)

If you are a new parent, be sure to check out the Glow Baby
Baby's First Journal. It is a baby care log book where parents can track the feeding, sleeping, diapering, vitamins, baths and special moments from their baby's day. They also have the new Baby's First Foods Journal. It enables parents to monitor the introduction of solids and their baby’s reactions to new foods. This company is great for new parents that are trying to figure out this thing we call parenthood! Visit their website today to see what you can find to help you with your little bundles. These make great shower gifts too.

Would you like to win your choice of 3 Glow Baby Notepads? Well, I thought you might, so here are the ways to enter.

Splenda: All the Flavor, None of the Guilt! Review

On several occasions you guys have heard me talk about baking with my children. I love it so much. It brings me such joy to watch my son's excitement as we bake cookies. The negative to this, is there are always sweets around my house now. All I can say is thank goodness for Splenda.

I have been using Splenda in my home for several years now on things like cereal or Cream of Wheat. It wasn't until we started baking weekly that I switched over to Splenda granulated sugar for my baking as well. Now I can eat the sweets without the extra calories and guilt.

Splenda has joined forces with celebrity mom chef Katie Brown. Together they are bringing us more ways than ever to use Splenda to cut out unnecessary sugar from our diets. I received the Splenda Brand Tastebook so that I could sample some of the delicious recipes using Splenda vs. Sugar.

After looking through the Tastebook, I decided on Sweet as Sugar Cookies. Hey, I figured if I was going to see if I could taste a difference, why not try a sugar cookie recipe?

Sweet as Sugar Cookies:
1 Cup unsalted butter, softened
1 Cup SPLENDA Sugar Blend
2 Large Eggs
2 Teaspoons vanilla extract
4 Cups all-purpose flour
1 Teaspoon baking powder
1/2 Teaspoon salt
Decorative candies and colored sugars (optional)

Do these sound yummy? Well, they are and with Splenda, they don't have the calories that sugar adds. If you want to know how to make them, you will have to visit
http://www.splenda.com/. You will find all kinds of great Splenda recipes on their website, such as Nutty Banana Bread and Sweet Berry Smoothie .

Katie's goal by working with Splenda is to help you to see that Splenda can make any treat guilt free. It doesn't even have to be sweets. You can use Splenda in everything from savory side dishes, sauces, salads and salsas. If you haven't given Splenda a try, then you don't know what you are missing, but I do...THE CALORIES! Splenda's website offers so many fun tips and a Splenda Recipe Club that you can sign up for. They even have a Sweet American Pie Contest going on right now. So head on over and start to learn more about Splenda today.

California Pizza Kitchen: Small Craving for your Hungry Appetite!

It is time for me to write another post that gets your mouths watering. I just love making you guys hungry!

California Pizza Kitchen has a menu that offers a little bit of everything...everything delicious that is. I was asked if I would like to visit California Pizza Kitchen with my family to try out their new Small Cravings menu. Well, you know I am not about to turn down food, especially CPK.

Last weekend we headed out with the kids for a fun day and on the way home hit the restaurant. I was so hungry that I could not decide on one specific item from the menu. They have got such a large selection of pizza and pastas as well as sandwiches. We finally decided to start our meal with the Crispy Artichoke Hearts and The Wedge Salad from the NEW Small Cravings menu. Other choices we could have gone with included:

Asparagus & Arugula Salad
Buffalo Chicken
Sweet Corn Tamale Ravioli
Mediterranean Plate or
White Corn Guacamole & Chips

All the above items were priced at $6.49 or less. The Crispy Artichoke Hearts were not anything I would order again if I am being honest with you guys, but the Wedge Salad was just perfect! It was not too big and came with applewood smoked bacon, chopped egg and fresh diced Roma tomatoes. YUMMY! I am getting hungry again just remembering it.

For our dinner entrees, I chose the Chicken Tequila Fettuccine and my husband had the New Cheeseburger Pizza. The Chicken Tequila Fettuccine was a huge portion of Spinach fettuccine with chicken, red, green & yellow peppers, red onions( I left those out) in a tequila-lime and jalapeno cream sauce. It was a great combination of flavors. I would definitely have it again!

My husbands pizza is a new item that has recently been added to the menu as well. The Cheeseburger Pizza has Ground Angus beef, caramelized sweet onions, Mozzarella and American cheeses, hearth-baked then topped with fresh Roma tomatoes and chilled shredded lettuce tossed in their secret sauce. I heard no complaints from him either. We enjoyed everything we had, although I think the kids Mac and Cheese was some of the BEST I have ever had from anywhere! When I visit California Pizza Kitchen next time, I think I may just get that. LOL

Well, I am guessing you thought we were done with our meals, but you would be wrong. I know, it sounds like a lot of food, but we couldn't help ourselves. We had to order dessert. (The kids wanted it) So I will leave you with this thought for the night: RED VELVET CAKE.......

Three layers of moist red velvet cake frosted with vanilla bean cream cheese and white chocolate curls. Served with vanilla bean sauce.

Don't you need a night out with your family too? Visit
http://www.cpk.com/ to see an entire menu and find a location near you.

* I was sent pizza dough to visit CPK and give an honest account of my experience. I received no other form of compensation and the opinions are those of my family. Your experience may vary depending on your likes.

*CLOSED* The Great Debate has been DECIDED! OVER WINS!

*The Winner for this giveaway is Barbara.Montyj. CONGRATS:) Thank you to everyone that entered this giveaway! Stay tuned for more to come.....

Well, I don't want to have to rub it in, but MY TEAM WON!! That's right, the votes have been tallied and it has been decided that Team Over wins:)
Cottonelle is rewarding Team Over with the perfect toilet paper just perfect for us. Don't worry Team Under, it is also perfect for you. Why, because it is softer and stronger now. This means you can't go wrong no matter what way you roll.

You know, I would feel badly for you Team Under guys, but the truth is we are passionate about our toilet paper and the way it hangs. I bet you had no idea that in the Cottonelle polls it was determined that:

• Those who prefer hanging their toilet paper over are more likely to have engaged in flipping the direction of the roll at a friend’s home, with 27 percent of “overs” admitting to doing so.
• In addition to being more apt to switch the way the roll hangs at friends’ homes, those who prefer to roll over seem to be more particular about the whole subject.

24 percent of Team Overs were even annoyed when they visited your homes and found the toilet paper in the wrong direction. So therefore, I am thinking we definitely deserved to win.

Cottonelle has recently introduced the new Cottonelle brand Roll Over Toilet Paper. It is on shelves and you won't want to miss giving it a try. It is designed to be stronger and softer. No worrying about tearing a hole through this toilet paper while wiping. Oh, come on! You can't say it's never happened to you. I haven't got to try the new Cottonelle brand Roll Over TP just yet, but I will be picking some up the next time I hit Walmart. I will be sure to let you know what my experience is then. In the meantime, how would one of you like to win a 24 pack roll of Cottonelle brand Roll Over and a $50 Walmart Gift Card? I figured you might, so here is how you can enter:

Yubo Lunchbox Review: Parent and Kid Approved!

I have recently started preparing myself for sending my son to preschool. It is such a scary thought for me to even think about sending him, so when I do, I want everything to be just perfect for him. One of the things he will need each day he goes to school is a lunchbox.

The Yubo is going to be our lunchbox of choice. I was sent a Yubo Deluxe lunchbox for my son to test drive. A Yubo Deluxe is an amazing lunchbox for kids and parents. The children love it because it has removable faceplates. Each child can choose a faceplate that represents their own special personality. Of course for my son, that would be trains. The lunchbox we received came with School Rules faceplates, but I will definitely be purchasing the Train Faceplate set before the first day of school.

Now let me give you the long list of reasons why YOU will love the Yubo for you and your child. It would actually be much quicker just to tell you the reasons you won't like it, but that's just it, I can't think of one. The Yubo lunchbox is BPA free and recyclable. That is just for starters though. It also allows you to perfectly pack your child's lunch by providing custom containers that fit just right inside the Yubo lunchbox. The Yubo Deluxe comes with three containers, but you can also purchase them separately to fit your needs. It has a reusable custom built icepack that is great for days when you need to keep items cool.

Okay, now it is time to hear the best part. I remember when I was growing up, we always used the metal lunchboxes. Everytime I got home and opened it to clean it out, the smell was just horrible. I can still smell it just thinking about it. YUCK! There was really no good way to clean it out, other than just wiping it down. The Yubo lunchbox has completely gotten rid of this problem. Once you have used your lunchbox, simply pull it apart and throw it in the dishwasher. That's right guys, you know how I feel about my dishwasher...and I don't mean my husband. Every part of this lunchbox can be tossed into the dishwasher so that you know its clean. It is also antimicrobial, so you know germs won't be forming here:)

I definitely recommend the Yubo for any school age child. It can even be used for a younger child to carry their toys around as well. The only drawback I found to the Yubo is that when the icepack and containers are inside of it, it was a little heavy for my three year old. This would not be a problem for an older child though. My favorite things were that it is dishwasher safe and that my son can personalize it as his likes change. Faceplates are very reasonably priced at around $6.95-$9.95.

Visit
Getyubo.com to find out more about this fun kid friendly/parent friendly lunchbox. You can purchase Yubo at Getyubo.com or Toys"R"Us.com

* I received the Yubo Deluxe to try for this post. The opinions expressed in this post are from mine and my son's use of the product. We received no other form of compensation for this review.

*CLOSED*Lysol No-Touch Hand Soap Dispenser Giveaway: Fight Germs!

WINNER: Comment #57 Xenia:) CONGRATS!!

Hands and germs go hand in hand, literally. Everytime I look at either of my children's hands, they are usually covered in something. It could be dirt, paints, food or even the occasional booger. So, it was so nice to see that Lysol had created the Healthy Touch No-Touch Hand Soap System.

The name Lysol has always been a trusted name in my household. I have used Lysol Disinfecting Spray for as long as I can remember to kill germs. Lysol Healthy Touch is going to be another must in the house now. The Healthy Touch No-Touch Hand Soap System kills 99.99% of bacteria, which in return helps stop the spread of bacteria throughout our house. This means less sickness and healthier kids and I like that!

My son loves washing his hands now even more than he did. It is great because it dispenses just the right amount of soap into his tiny little hands. It is an attractive device and the soap that I tried, Soothing Cucumber Splash smelled delicious. You get germ killing soap while moisturizing your hands at the same time. The hardest part about set up was opening the actual package it came in. I thought I was never going to get into the packaging. Other than that, the rest was a breeze. They have a great little button on the back of the system that allows you to turn it off and on. This is great if you have a little one that wants to wash their hands too much:) I guess I can't blame the little guy, it is pretty fun to use.

If you are interested in bringing the Lysol Healthy Touch No-Touch Hand Soap System into your home, you can find it at any local retail store. You can visit
Lysol.com to sign up for great coupons and information on other Lysol products. Of course, you do have the opportunity to win a Lysol No-Touch ($14.99 ARV) here as well. Here are the ways to enter:

*CLOSED*Sunglass Warehouse Giveaway: Style made Affordable!

Winners, Winners, We have the Winners!! Comment #290 Belinda M and Comment # 266 Huguette E. THANKS to all that entered!!

It's getting to be that time of year! You know, the time of year when you start needing the essentials, like a bathing suit, sunscreen and you guessed it SUNGLASSES! I guess it really depends on where you live, but even in the winter months sunglasses are important. It is so important to protect our eyes from the sun.

Sunglass Warehouse not only makes that stylish to do, but affordable as well. The sunglasses you will find at Sunglass Warehouse are ALL priced at under $20 with same day shipping. I don't know if you guys have the same problem as me, but I am constantly losing or breaking my sunglasses. Perhaps you saw my recent post about my hubby stepping on my actual glasses? Accidents happen, but when you have paid an arm and a leg for something it is a little harder to swallow.

The sunglasses you get from Sunglass Warehouse are very fashionable. They have created designs that you can compare to Dior, Prada, Armani, Gucci and Chanel just to name a few. The only difference is affordability. I chose to receive a pair from the Shield Sunglass Collection. I have never been one to wear the really large sunglasses, even though I guess they are very popular right now. These were a nice compromise. They were big, but it didn't feel like they took up my whole face!

I will admit, these sunglasses are very light plastic and don't feel high quality, but on I don't think you can tell the difference. The great part about them is they still provide your eyes with UV400 protection and they are affordable. You can purchase several pair for the price of one expensive designer pair. I think being frugal is in, especially when you can look just as good! The pair I received were $14.41. At that price I can have one for the house, my purse and the car.

Sunglass Warehouse is definitely worth checking out the next time you are looking for a pair of Sunglasses. They offer styles in men and women. You will love the selection they offer, except it makes it really hard to chose! Which is of course what I am going to be asking you to do. Having trouble deciding? Well, you are in luck. They offer help on deciding sunglasses for your face shape and skin tone. For this giveaway the two winners will receive a $25 Gift Certificate for a pair of sunglasses of their choice. Want a chance to win, well here is how:

MANDATORY ENTRY: Follow my blog on Google Friend Connect. (1 Entry) If you don't know how to follow, please just ask me. I will walk you through it.

Chuggington...CHUGGA, CHUGGA: Move Over Thomas

Any mom of a little boy is familiar with the all too famous Thomas the Tank Engine. My son has adored him for as long as I can remember. He even went so far as to having a singing toothbrush that he pushed over and over as it sang the Thomas theme song. Thank goodness there is a new Chugger in town!

That's right guys, Thomas finally has some competition in our house and I am loving it. Chuggington can be found on the Disney Channel and it is such a great children's show. It is so great to see a new, more up to date show about trains. Let me introduce you to a few of the characters you will find riding the rails!

Wilson, is the red Chugger trainee. He is a little scatterbrained and is always getting in trouble for going to fast! Aww...Big Bumpers! Wilson is also what my three year old has changed his name to. Yes, he has a name for everyone in our family now from this show. It makes for an interesting day.:)

Brewster is one of the other main characters and trainees. He and the others learn new things everyday from the older trains. Brewster considers himself to be a strong and dependable engine. He is very reliable and always knows the questions to ask. He is the Blue and Yellow Chugger.

Koko is the female trainee of Chuggington. You hear all sorts of quirky little things from her like TRAINTASTIC! Guess who I get to be everyday in the imaginary land of my little boy?? Koko is fast and loves to learn new things. CHUGGA CHUGGA CHOO CHOO!!

The thing that I love about Chuggington is they help teach lessons to your children in each episode. They have created a show that captures your kids attention. There is even an Action Chugger in the series that is the Superhero of Chuggington. I love how they have made this show into something that children can relate to. The characters are funny and animated! Of course, you have Eddie who is in charge of the railroad and taking care of the chuggers.

If you haven't set a recording for Chuggington yet, you need to stop and do it right now. Your child will love you for it. You on the other hand may wish you hadn't after you have to watch it a thousand times and find yourself singing the theme song in the shower.

Visit
Chuggington.com to find out more about the new chuggers in town. It has great games and videos for the kids as well.

Zestra Review: Things in the Bedroom just got Hotter!

Zestra: Mom-Tested! Pick for the April issue of Parenting magazine

I was recently asked if I would like to share a product with my readers called Zestra. You may have heard of Zestra if you are a watcher of shows like Rachael Ray, The Tyra Show or Dr. OZ. If you haven't heard of Zestra, it is specifically designed to improve feelings of sexual desire and arousal for women.

According to
Zestra's website, they hosted two clinical trials. These clinical trials showed that Zestra worked well in women with the following conditions, as well as women with no conditions at all.

*Women experiencing different stages of menopause

*Women taking oral contraceptives

*Women taking anti-depressants

*Women with medical conditions affecting sexual feeling

I was personally unable to try this product as I am still a nursing mom. When I asked if I could use it, the company responded with:

As with many consumer products, Zestra should not be used by pregnant or lactating women, or women who are trying to conceive, as it has not been studied in those populations.

So ladies if you fall into this category, please hold off on trying this product until you are able to do so safely. I do have to tell you that my husband begged me to stop nursing as soon as he heard about this review:) The following review is an account of my lucky friends experience with this product.

This review contains adult content and is intended for audiences 18 and older!

When my friend asked me to try Zestra, an essential arousal oil that is meant to heighten your sexual pleasure I said, "Yes." Now that I have tried it, if she asked me again my answer would be, "Yes, yes, yes, yes!" Seriously though, my husband of 10 years and I are all for anything that will spice up the bedroom. We have tried similar products, but this was by far both of our favorite.

We opened our sample, read the directions and within minutes I was feeling the "Zestra Rush." The application was very simple and the scent was pleasant. The good news for us women is it takes 5 minutes for it to take effect so ladies you can count on at least 5 minutes of foreplay...that alone makes the product a winner! Another selling point is that it is harmless if ingested.

The first few minutes after the application I felt a slight tingly, warm sensation. As actual lovemaking began, the effect of the Zestra was very noticeable and pleasurable. It caused me to feel everything more intensely as if all the nerves in my happy place were firing in overdrive. However, it was not sooooo much sensation that it burned as I have had happen with similar products. My husband, who obviously comes in contact with the products I use as well, has experienced a burning sensation at the tip of his penis with other enhancement oils in the past. With Zestra he did not have this issue at all. It enhanced our evening and left us both smiling and then sleeping, of course:)

It was a single dose packet but we definitely could have used half the packet and saved the rest for another night of fun. I would recommend this product to those who have difficulty achieving orgasm or those who are simply looking to try something new to enhance lovemaking in general. So ladies...get comfortable with your own body, get yourself some Zestra and get you some!

If you would like to try Zestra, it can be purchased at Wal-Mart, Target, Kmart, Meijer and Rite Aid. It can also be purchased online at
zestra.com. If ordered online the product comes in a securely concealed plain outer package for your privacy. Zestra.com also offers a Free trial 2-pack with shipping of $4.95. It is a great way to try the product for yourself.

* I received a sample of Zestra to try for this review. The opinions expressed in this review are from the experience of my friend. Individual results will vary. I received no other form compensation.
