If you like, join in for Thankful Thoughts for the Holidays and write posts that talk about what you are thankful for this holiday season. If you do, just write your post, grab the button and link back here. You can do it once, twice or as often as you have something to be thankful for. If you don't want to link up, then you are welcome to just come and visit me.
I do realize that this post should have been written to go out yesterday. As they say, better late than never.
As we all know, yesterday was Veteran's Day. Therefore, today's "Thankful Thoughts" is for all the Servicemen and Women that have or are presently fighting for our COUNTRY. Both my grandpa and my daddy were in the service. They fought in wars and were fortunate enough to return home to their families. I am very thankful for that. Unfortunately, they had many friends fighting with them that were not able to make it back home. I am sure we all know someone who has lost someone to war. Over the years, our country has gone to war for many reasons. Many people disagree with why we go to war, but regardless of our take on why we are fighting, we should always show respect for those that protect our freedom.
This Holiday Season, my thoughts, prayers and thanks go out to the men and women who battle for the country I love. I also offer all those things to the families that they leave behind during this time. I know you miss them so much. I realize the joy it would bring everyone to have our soldiers back home. Until then, I want to say "THANK YOU". What you are doing does not go unappreciated or unnoticed, although sometimes it must feel like it does.
I know I have met many bloggers online who have family in the military. I would like to offer 2 care packages to 2 different soldiers who are overseas. I would love to send them to someone that my readers know. If you have someone you would like to see receive one, please leave me a comment on this post with a way to reach you. I will have to randomly choose two comments, although I wish I could offer one to everyone missing home this Holiday Season. If your comment is chosen, I will contact you for how to ship to your soldier.
THANK YOU AGAIN FOR ALL YOU DO!!

This is a wonderful post. I have to say I know someone who MORE than deserves a little extra love. He works with my husband and volunteered to deploy for him so my husband wouldn't have to leave right after our son was born. Not many people would make that sacrifice and I am forever grateful to him.

Wow, I so admire what you're doing here. Thank you.
I love what you said about regardless of your feelings about the war, support the troops! Amen!
I love this post. My nephew leaves tomorrow to go back to Iraq. I wish he wasn't. I had to listen to my mother cry all day because it was coming. He's an amazing young man who chose to go just as things were looking up for him. Second term.
What a great post and such a thoughtful idea to do something instead of just "say" something. Small acts of kindness make a huge difference when they are done by many so here is hoping your post inspires us all to give in some way to those who give SOOOOOO much. Thanks to all our service men and women and their families who sacrifice so greatly for us all. GOD BLESS AMERICA!
I dont have anyone over seas (though my fiance just enlisted to the Air Force) but I think what you're doing is wonderful! Just had to say something =)
Yes, he will! He'll be in school during the Christmas holiday and they usually close the school so he gets to come home! =)
I'm glad you enjoyed Wicked! I'm seeing it for my 3rd time in a few days. I'm seriously hooked on it! Hehe. It has such a strong and touching plot!
What a wonderful post!! I love these thankful thoughts!! I have not been online, so I am catching up. I would love to send a box to someone who is away from home, doing what is needed at this time. I so respect all of our military and their families all the time but especially at this time of year. Please let me know what I can do!
